2026-27 LIBRARY VOTE & TRUSTEE ELECTION Tuesday, April 14th, 2026 10:00am to 8:00pm in the library. The library’s annual report and proposed budget is below. For the 2026–2027 fiscal year, the total amount of real estate taxes to be raised is $3,226,301, an increase from $3,120,214 in the prior year. This 3.4% increase remains within the New York State Tax Cap. Live Interview Coaching: Patrons can brush up on interview techniques or get live online interview practice from trained job coaches. Job coaches and patrons communicate via live chat in our online classroom. In addition to live interview coaching, patrons enjoy 24/7 access to interview tips and career resources.

Resume Lab: Patrons can submit their resumes any time through the JobNow Resume Lab and a job coach will send it back within 24 hours with detailed feedback and suggestions for improvement. Users are also able to download resume templates, or browse resources for producing better resumes.

Career Resources: Patrons enjoy 24/7 access to a carefully-selected library of job resources. In addition, Brainfuse job coaches help users strategically target jobs best suited to their interests and qualifications.

Adult Learning Center: The Adult Learning Center provides foundational, career-enhancing skills to job seekers. In addition, the Adult Learning Center offers test preparation (including the GED and the USCIS citizenship test) and a unique academic skills center featuring live, online tutors.

The CollegeNow service assists patrons in every step of the college admissions process, making higher education more accessible and attainable for all.

CollegeNow’s Key Features Include:

  1. Application Resources: Patrons can access materials such as SAT/ACT preparation guides, essay writing resources, recommendation letter tips, and more, ensuring they are well-prepared to craft college applications.
  2. Admissions Interview Resources: CollegeNow equips patrons with the tools and knowledge to excel in admissions interviews, boosting their confidence and increasing their chances of securing a coveted spot at their dream colleges.
  3. Financial Aid Resources: CollegeNow service provides resources for informed college financial planning, including information on scholarships, loans, and expert guidance on completing the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid).
  4. Live Guidance Counselors: Expert online guidance counselors are available to offer personalized assistance throughout the college application process. Whether it’s help with application forms, essay composition, financial aid navigation, or interview preparation, CollegeNow’s experienced counselors are ready to support patrons at every turn.
  5. Writing Lab: CollegeNow includes a Writing Lab that offers patrons a unique opportunity to enhance the quality and effectiveness of their college entrance essays. Through this feature, patrons receive personalized and comprehensive feedback, helping them to stand out in the highly competitive admissions process.

Brainfuse HelpNow™ provides differentiated learning solutions for users of diverse needs and background.  Students communicate with live tutors using an interactive whiteboard to chat, write, draw, copy/paste text or images and graph homework problems.

Live Tutoring: HelpNow offers live tutor access for homework help, skills building and test preparation where after taking a quiz, the user can connect directly to a live tutor from the test center without having to return to the main page. Because HelpNow is personalized, both the student and the tutor can access quiz questions to do an intensive test prep which may include loading lessons on the whiteboard. All live sessions are saved and can be replayed as well as shared with friends and teachers by email.  Using the CloudPack feature, students can store and upload MS Word, Excel, JPG, and other accepted file types directly onto the whiteboard.

Asynchronous Services: The Writing Lab and the 24/7 Center options give users the freedom to receive assistance at any time of the day without connecting with a live tutor.  Users can submit papers through the Writing Lab for a detailed feedback.  24/7 Center is for non-writing assignments such as math or science.  All reviews and comments from our tutors are found and stored in the Message Center which is found on the student homepage.

Study Tools: LEAP helps patrons build academic skills through targeted lessons, quizzes, and live, online tutoring. LEAP creates a learning plan based on a skills assessment that is taken at the beginning of the course. Flashbulb is a robust, learning resource where you can find flashcards or create your own. There are many ways this can be used.  Brainfuse students have created sets to use with their friends and teachers have created sets for their students to use.

Collaboration tools: For students who prefer to work independently and   form their own online study group, HelpNow offers a set of collaborative tools – MEET and Brainwave. MEET allows students to schedule their own online sessions using the Brainfuse MEET whiteboard which is specifically designed for a group setting.  Brainwave is a recordable whiteboard where students can draw, write on the whiteboard and chat then save and email it to others for feedback.   

Adult Learning Center

Adult Learning Center is the adult learners’ version of HelpNow™ where patrons can access High School Equivalency prep, US Citizenship test prep, resume assistance, Microsoft Office support, and Career Resources. The Writing Lab, Send Question, and Skills Building are also included in the Adult Learning Center suite.
