The Deer Park Public Library is partnering with Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library to ensure all children under the age of 5 living in the Deer Park Union Free School District have access to a great selection of books at home.

Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library puts books into the hands and hearts of children across the world. We partner with local communities to provide age-appropriate, high-quality book each month to registered children from birth to age five. Early Literacy has been a critical part of the Deer Park Public Library’s educational mission since its founding in 1966. We are committed to providing children with access to a diverse collection of high-quality materials.
How does this program work?
Each month, Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library mails a high-quality, age-appropriate book to all registered children, addressed to them, at no cost to the child’s family. For more information, please visit the Imagination Library site.
How long will it take my child to receive their first book?
Depending on when you register your child, it may take up to eight to twelve weeks for the first book to arrive. After that, the books will come every month.
How do I sign up my child?
For a child to receive their first books, they must be registered with Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library. If the child lives in Deer Park Union Free School District, you can register by filling out the online application based on your zip code.
You can also register by filling out the form below and returning it to the Deer Park Public Library’s Children’s Department.

How is the Deer Park Public Library’s participation funded?
The Deer Park Public Library’s participation in Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library is partially funded by a bequest from Polly Lowery, a beloved teacher who taught in the Deer Park School District since the mid 60’s. Polly was known for her generous heart, dedication to her profession and youth causes. Polly made a point to support her community through her day-to-day work, her church, and in times of crisis. She spent her last years in Tennessee, and she is survived by her brother Charles Lowery.
