Stick by Andrew Smith

There is a boy named Stick McClellan.  He is nicknamed Stick because he is tall and thin.  Stick has a tough life.  Since he was born with one ear, he is being bullied.  He also has an older brother and his name is Bosten.  Bosten is always there to stop Stick from being bullied.  They also have abusive parents.  Stick then realizes Bosten is gay.  Their dad is so angry, Bosten runs away.  From then on out, things don’t go Stick’s way.
My favorite character is Stick.  He shows toughness, strength and courage to remain himself  as best as he can through his life.  My favorite part in the story was when I found out Stick was born with one ear.  To me, that means he is special.  I would rate the book 8/10.  I would also recommend this book to anyone looking to read a mature level book.  It is one of my all time favorites.
