The Lost Hero by Rick Riordan – Five Reviews!

The Lost Heroby Rick Riordan is a book about Greek demigods Jason, Leo and Piper.  Greek demigods are half mortal children of the Greek gods.  For example, Jason is a son of Zeus, the king of gods, Piper is the daughter of Aphrodite, the goddess of love and Leo is the son of Hephaestus, the god of blacksmiths and fire.

Jason wakes up with amnesia and can’t tell anything about his life before he woke up. Leo, Piper and Jason are soon sent to Camp Half-Blood, a camp for Greek demigods.  They are then sent on a quest to rescue Hera, queen of the heavens.  But can Jason, Leo and Piper, who are all inexperienced, complete a quest so difficult?

My favorite character is Jason because he’s brave.  For example, in my favorite part of the book, Jason fights off a giant single handedly.  I liked this part because Zeus helps kill the giant.  I would rate this book 4 out of 5 stars.  I would recommend it to friends.  I really liked how Rick Riordan kept a guide to Greek terms and gods at the end of the book

Jason would have been your average teenager in every way – except for the fact that he doesn’t remember who he is.  Now monsters are trying to destroy him and his friends Leo and Piper.  Jason has to defeat them, do a quest and remember who he is – all before the winter solstice or else the world will end.

My favorite character in the book was Jason.  My favorite part of the book was when Thalia and Hera were arguing because it was funny.  I rate this book 5/5 and I would recommend it to friends because it is adventurous.

The Lost Heroby Rick Riordan is about the journey of three young teenagers (Jason, Piper and Leo) to rescue Hera and Piper’s father.  The problem is, Jason Wakes up on a school bus not knowing anything about his past due to amnesia, and Piper and Leo are kind of new to the whole “demigod quest” thing.  Now, they must go on a quest to rescue Hera, the queen of the gods while battling many monsters along the way.  They must do all of this by the winter solstice.  So basically, Jason, Piper and Leo have to rescue Hera, battle monsters, risk their lives, and get used to being a demigod.  Who would have thought that a couple of teenagers would undergo so much stress?

My favorite character in the book was definitely Jason, the son of Zeus.  He is my favorite because of his courage.  He is always very courageous, not to mention he is also pretty funny.  My favorite part in the book was when Leo said, “I can’t summon any more gas!  Er, that came out the wrong…”  I remember cracking up at that part.  I love that part because it was so funny.

I would rate this book 5 out of 5 stars.  It is definitely one of my favorite novels.  I would recommend this book to any of my friends, especially the fans of the Percy Jackson series.  If you are into mythology, this is a must read!

The Lost Hero, the first installment of the Heroes of Olympus series by Rick Riordan, is a comedic and exciting adventure for people of all ages to enjoy.  When Jason wakes up on a school bus on a field trip to the Grand Canyon, everything is fine except for the fact that he doesn’t know anything; where he is, who the strange people surrounding him are, and the worst, who he is.  Then, after being attacked by storm spirits, Jason and two other kids named Piper and Leo, are whisked away to the magical Camp Half Blood, where they are determined as children of the gods.  The newly united demigods are then offered a quest, to save the Queen of the Heavens herself.  Will the young heroes succeed? Or will they all be destroyed by a new, unseen enemy?  Find out in The Lost Hero.

The Lost Hero was one of the best books I ever read.  I give it a definite 10/10.  I feel this way because I enjoy learning about Greek gods and I also enjoyed the Percy Jackson series.  Rick Riordan is an amazing author and even if you’re not interested in Greek mythology you should try one of these amazing books.  He is a compelling and outstanding author who captivates his audience.  It was a very good read.
