Deer Park Public Library Announces 2025 Budget Approval and Trustee Re-election Results
Deer Park, NY – April 9, 2025 – The Deer Park Public Library is pleased to announce the results of the 2025 budget vote and trustee election, held on April 8th, 2025. We extend our sincere gratitude to all Deer Park community members who participated in this important democratic process.
2025 Budget:
The proposed budget for the 2025-2026 fiscal year, totaling $3,687,340.25, with $3,123,627.00 to be raised by taxation, was presented to the community, outlining the financial plan to support the library’s essential services, including:
- Maintaining and expanding our collection of books, digital resources, and other materials.
- Providing diverse and engaging programs for all ages.
- Ensuring access to technology and internet services.
- Maintaining our facilities and providing a welcoming community space.
Result: The 2025 budget was approved by a vote of 76 to 7. The election for one trustee position was conducted. Trustee Susan Gaskin ran unopposed, and she was re-elected by a vote of 79 to 3. We congratulate Susan Gaskin on her re-election. Susan Gaskin’s new term will begin on July 1, 2025, and expire on June 30, 2030. We welcome her continued dedication to serving the Deer Park community.
