Hilly Wise and his father are the “Wise” men of the title.  Arthur (wisely) becomes a multi-millionaire lawyer and Hilly (wisely or not) wants nothing to do with his father’s (dirty) money.   This is poetically written, set on the shore on Cape Cod, and the story is a good tale.
