In the middle of her college career, 19 year-old Farida and her friend travel exotically to Africa.   When Farida meets Ade and falls in love with him, she agrees to marry and live in an idyllic paradise on an island off the coast of Kenya– but then reality intrudes when Ade’s family insists that tribal rituals be upheld and he travel to America to get face-to-face consent to their marriage from her parents.
